Kaua'i Gallery 2
Kaua'i by Land
The following 19 images were taken from locations
on Kaua'i
accessible by car or by a short walk along a hiking
trail.
.
The
Kilauea Lighthouse, a National Wildlife Refuge, provides scenic views of
the coast
as well as a wealth of information about
the
various species of animal life on the island.
Wailua Falls, familiar to viewers
of TV's "Fantasy Island," as viewed from the Wailua
Falls lookout, which also offers views of
the tour boats on the Wailua River.
The
grandeur of Waimea Canyon can be viewed from various lookouts along Waimea
Canyon Road. The sunlight filtering through
the clouds paints the canyon in a
constantly changing tapestry of colors.
The canyon is commonly referred to as "The
Grand Canyon of the Pacific," a title often
mistakenly credited to Mark Twain.
Ke'e
Beach, at the end of the road on the north shore, is a popular spot for
swimming
and snorkeling, as offshore reefs
protect the area from dangerous currents.
Secret Beach offers beauty and seclusion,
though less than ideal swimming conditions.
Donkey Beach, on the eastern shore
just north of Kapa'a, is a clothing-
optional
beach more suited to sunbathing than water sports. Accessed by a short
hike,
the area offers unparalleled beauty
combined with peaceful serenity.
Waipouli Beach fronts the hotels and
condos along the eastern shore's "Coconut Coast".
This charming little cemetery is visible
on the road to the Wailua Falls lookout.
An
endangered Monk Seal takes a break on the sands of Poipu Beach -- a common
sight.
An even more common site is the ever-
present wild chickens of Kaua'i, this one
warily eyeing our passing car. Lastly,
no trip to Kaua'i is complete without a Hawaiian sunset.

next

.
Enough with Kaua'i already; I want to choose a
new
destination.
.
Your web site sucks; where can I see some good
porn?
.
Excuse me, but the information
in this gallery is not accurate.
